I just got one for x-mas, I am terrified that I'm going to kill it, how often should it be watered? Do I still have to prune it, cuz when I got it it is already a bonsai Juniper tree?

one thing that concerns me about this vid ... the soil ,, you dont use potting soil with a bonsai ... potting soil holds too much water and will rot the roots ... i also wonder if that juniper in the vid is still alive ??? id bet its dead ... its too bad ,, people now days just dont take the time to know what they are doing ... if you want to really have a bonsai tree ,, please read a book or two then join a club .. its the olny way to really understand what your doing and why ...

It's easy to make a bopnsai forest, just don't use this method. He didn't create a bonsai. He just pruned a junpier down and stuck it in a bonsai pot. For a forest use an odd number of thin straight trees or older seedlings. They should be trained correctly and they need to be added to the pot in a certain order. Too long to mention here. But Google "Bonsai forest" and you may get good directions. HTH

NIce video, but thats not a bonsai. Biasa199, you need to do a little more reading before spreading your "knowledge."

Yes it is def easier to grow all the same trees but with proper lighting and water you can grow different ones. If you need anymore help iexploreracoons, just contact me.

That's not really true. If you just wired a bonsai it would eventually bend the wiring out the continue to grow. But training a bonsai is HARDY just wiring. You wire it, you trim the roots so it can't grow at such a rapid rate, and you cut/pinch back new growth. It is a constantly evolving art and an ABSOLUTE failure if you wanna go buy one and just throw it out on the patio. |
